WASTE, RECYCLING COLLECTION CHANGES IN ABERDEEN
The City of Aberdeen is changing its waste and recycling collection program. The first change starts with new 64-gallon, two-wheeled containers for every residence, purchased by the city. The mechanical lift on the city’s trash and recycling trucks will raise and empty the container, keeping personnel out of contact with the heavy, sometimes dangerous, contents. Delivery to residents is estimated to begin in February or March, weather dependent. For more information, visit https://www.aberdeenmd.gov/home/news/new-toter-program.
BRICKS FOR LOVED ONES AT APG MEMORIAL IN ABERDEEN
The APG Memorial, located in Aberdeen’s Festival Park, serves as a permanent reminder of the sacrifices and contributions to the national defense by these civilian, military, and contract workers. These grounds of the APG Memorial include engraved bricks commemorating those past and present who have contributed to our nation’s defense. Engraved bricks come in three sizes and can be purchased at http://www.apg100.org/buy-a-brick. For a small amount, you can permanently commemorate your loved one’s contribution to our national defense. While we can’t guarantee the bricks will be installed by the holidays, you will however receive a certificate and an APG 100th Anniversary commemorative coin to put under the tree. You’ll also be notified when the bricks are installed. For more information, email email@example.com.
